SAMworld Studio
SAMworld
Founded in 1981 by sound designer and music producer Mirco Mencacci, over the decades SAMworld has gained international recognition in music, film and art. In 1996, we opened three additional studios in Rome, where we supervised the audiovisual post-production of over 400 films.
Our sound design projects have been awarded at major film festivals and exhibited at renowned venues such as the Guggenheim and MOMA in New York, Pompidou in Paris, MAXXI in Rome and the Venice Biennale.

The Studio
Our Dolby Atmos™-certified studio in Lari, near Pisa in Tuscany, was designed by acoustic engineer Christian Malcurt and offers the highest standard for digital and analog audio recordings and productions.
SAMworld Studio hosts two spacious recording rooms with a wide range of backline instruments and rare microphones, a control room equipped with a 48-channel LN1 Raindirk Symphony console and a production room with an extensive collection of vintage synths and drum machines.

Mirco
SAMworld founder and artistic director Mirco Mencacci loves to record and experiment with every aspect of the sonic experience. As the sound designer for acclaimed directors such as Michelangelo Antonioni, in 2004 he developed the Spherical Sound® system for capturing immersive sound.
Mirco served as a sound consultant for renowned companies such as car manufacturer Ferrari and held lectures at the Syracuse University in New York State and at the CPM Music Institute in Milan.

Lari
Nestled in the charming and picturesque 12th century hill town of Lari in the Pisan hills, SAMworld is an all-year-round superb creative retreat just 30 minutes from Pisa International Airport and the sea.
Within the medieval walls, guests are welcomed by a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, excellent cuisine, small shops and all things necessary for a pleasant and productive stay. For recording artists, we provide our own cozy studio apartment or help find the most suitable accommodation.
