Dolby Atmos Recording Studio in Tuscany

Control Room

Our Dolby Atmos ready control room measures 8×5.3m and is designed to provide highly accurate acoustics. It features a 2″ 24-track MCI JH24 with Dolby SR analog recording system and vintage tube gear as well as Pro Tools (48in/56out) and state-of-the-art digital equipment.

At its heart rests a 48-channel Raindirk Symphony LN1 console, a model that has mixed legendary performances such as The Three Tenors at the Barcelona Olympics, Pavarotti in the Park and Pink Floyd’s The Wall.

Recording Room A

Designed by acoustic engineer Christian Malcurt of the Artistic Palace in Paris, our main hall measures 8.5×6×4.5m and boasts excellent acoustics thanks to abam and maple diffusors. It features a model B Steinway & Sons grand piano and offers a stunning view over the surrounding hills.

For a perfect balance of sound, moveable sound isolation screens – made of ceramic on one side and sound absorbing material on the other – allow the acoustics to be adjusted and/or the session musicians to be separated.

Recording Room B

Our second recording room measures 5.4×3.7×2.7m and is characterized by a short reverberation time. Separated by a large viewing window, it provides a free line of sight between the session musicians in the main hall.

Likewise equipped with moveable sound isolation screens, the room can be converted into a second control room (24 in/8 out) and houses an original Hammond B-3 organ with double Leslie 122 RV speakers and tone cabinet and a Fender Rhodes Mark I electric piano.

Production Room

A great space for composing, our production room is equipped with a Soundcraft 2824 LED console and hosts a vast collection of vintage synths and drum machines from the past century (mainly 1960s to 1980s) like the Yamaha DX7, the Korg MS 20 MK1 or the Farfisa Deluxe.

The production room measures 4.1×3.9×3.4m with all its equipment being connected to the Soundcraft mixer and the control room on the upper floor.

Machine Room

Our machine room is equipped with an MCI JH-24 tape machine, a classic analog multitrack recorder from the 1980s. Thanks to dedicated wiring, the room can also be used as an amp booth.

In addition, the studio’s stairwell is often used as a reverberation chamber and is popular with musicians and sound engineers recording in our studio.

Lounge Room

With a magnificent view over the surrounding countryside, our lounge provides relaxation between sessions. As it is directly connected to our control room, it can also be used as a workstation or even a live room.

The room measures 4.4×4.1×3.7m and features a sofa and an armchair, a conference table for meetings, a desktop setup with an iMac computer and speakers for composing/editing, a dining table and kitchenette as well as a small coffee bar. Wi-Fi and an FTP address are available.

Rehearsal Space

The local Teatro di Lari is less than a minute’s walk from the studio and provides a fantastic intimate space for rehearsals. Like other neuralgic points in town, the small theatre is connected to our studio via fibre optic cable and can therefore also be used as a recording room.

With a stage of over 200m² and its dedicated orchestra pit, the nearby Teatro Verdi in Casciana Terme can host larger rehearsals or tour setups.
